There's no doubt about it - boxing is a great way to stay in shape, develop speed, strength, agility and coordination. It's also a fantastic cardiovascular workout! The type of cardio you’ll experience in one of our boxing training sessions will vary.

In each one hour session, you’ll do some steady, moderate intensity work as you move around practicing technique drills on the pads. You'll also do some super high-intensity intervals to really get the heart racing as you let loose on the bags or focus pads. There'll also be some extra muscle-sculpting bodyweight exercises and core work thrown in during or between rounds to ensure maximum body conditioning.

No matter what your level of experience, our mixed level boxing classes will help refine your boxing stance and punching technique while also focusing on defence and movement, all while helping you get (and stay) in the best shape you've ever been in!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1Do I need my own boxing gloves?
If you're just starting out training and don't own your own boxing gloves, you are more than welcome to borrow some from our spares box. We have plenty of spare gloves at the gym for people to use free of charge, however if you plan to train regularly we would strongly advise investing in your own gloves. We do have various gloves available to purchase at the gym or if you'd prefer to order your own but would like some advice or recommendations - just speak to our coaches and they'll be happy to help.
2Do I have to do any sparring?
Any boxing sparring is completely optional. Most of our mixed level boxing classes are technique and fitness focused (we have dedicated classes where our fighters can spar). If there are any sparring rounds included in general classes, alternative drills are provided to anyone who doesn't want to spar.
3Will I need a gumshield / mouthguard?
Most of our boxing classes are predominantly non-contact (ie: pad work / bag work). Gumshields are only required to be worn for sparring and advanced level boxing training. You don't need to wear one for padwork drills and bag work (unless you really want to)
4Are the classes beginner friendly?
5Do I need to come with a partner?
