BEGINNER FRIENDLY YOUTH MUAY THAI CLASSES


Based in North Seaton in Ashington, Sabai Warriors offers youth Muay Thai training classes - both for aspiring fighters and those looking to develop their skills purely for fitness and fun.

Our beginner friendly youth Muay Thai classes are for kids who are new to the sport and are looking to learn and develop the foundations of Thai Boxing. Classes introduce the stance, footwork, and 4 weapons of Muay Thai including the punch, kick, knee, elbow.

Our Muay Thai classes are 45 minutes long, with the first 10-15 minutes preparing the body for Muay Thai through a series of cardio, conditioning and mobility exercises. The remainder of the session is dedicated to learning and practicing the fundamental techniques of Muay Thai, through shadow boxing, pad-work, and partner drills.​

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1Can a beginner join this class?
Of course! All of our youth Muay Thai classes are completely beginner friendly, so feel free to drop in and give it a try!
2Will i need to spar in this class?
Any sparring is completely optional. Most of our youth classes are technique and fitness focused - If there are any sparring rounds included in general classes, alternative drills are provided to anyone who doesn't want to spar.
3Will I need a gumshield / mouthguard?
Most of our Muay Thai classes are predominantly non-contact (ie: pad work / bag work). Gumshields are only required to be worn for sparring and advanced level boxing training. You don't need to wear one for padwork drills and bag work (unless you really want to)
4Do I need to come with a partner?
Absolutely not! You'll be training with a group of like-minded individuals and so if you come alone and require a partner for the drills - our coaches will pair you up with an appropriate partner. If ever there's an odd number of participants - one of our instructors / current members will usually join in too!
